JTN Cares

JTN Cares is the community service branch of our activities and is meant to cultivate ingenuity, kindness, and positive actions among the teens who are involved.

While JTN Cares does have featured programs and community service activities, the teens are invited to create, plan and execute volunteer projects on their own.

Cares participants receive community service hours, work experience, and a sense of social responsibility. Lynks credits are available as well upon request..

The Friendship Circle reaches out and extends a helping hand to families who have children with special needs and involves them in a full range of social experiences. The Circle’s’ unique formula introduces teenage volunteers to the children and through shared experiences both are enriched. We train teenage volunteers to become friends and mentors to a child with special needs thereby giving them the opportunity to have what every child needs – friends, role models, and love.

We Currently have 2 programs running! Volunteer today!

Sunday Circle: Buddies and volunteers gather once a month to take part in an exciting array of fun activities together. Featured activities include sensory tables, drum circle, baking and gym. Volunteer today and make an impact! (Sunday Circle takes place at our Newtown location.)

CrateMates: CrateMates is a program through which two teens bring an overflowing activity crate to their buddy’s home. They spend time playing together and creating the crafts in the box as well as warm memories to last a lifetime! (Bi-monthly)

Once a month, JTN volunteers deliver boxes of food and critical household goods to families. JRA’s work is fueled by volunteers united by a commitment to help those in need. Throughout the recent years our teens have been a staple for the packing and delivering of these boxes.

Homework helpers is a weekly program where responsible high school students are paired with elementary school children to help them with their homework in a safe, supervised setting.
